Why try hospice acupuncture for your condition?

-
Because it works on relieving pain and distress.
-
Because there are no negative side-effects
-
Because it is safe when performed by an extensively trained acupuncture professional
-
Because it is one of the most relaxing, stress-reducing things you can do for yourself

During a treatment very thin, flexible, hair-thin needles are inserted at specific points on the body. They are much like a kitten's whisker. These points affect both the central and peripheral nervous systems. Acupuncture triggers the release of your body's internal chemicals such as endorphins and enkephalins, your natural pain relievers. If you have pain that is lingering or is not being helped by other treatments or medications, then acupuncture offers a time-tested, very reliable method of pain relief.

For non-pain conditions, these same pathways are activated to restore balance and homeostasis to the body, improving sleep, digestion, respiration, and mood.

There are many forms of acupuncture so that we have many ways to approach treatment. Most often points used are located on the scalp, the arms from the elbows to the wrist, on the legs from the knees to the toes, the upper chest, as well as on the ears. Much of the time, the patient can lie on their back, face up and doesn’t need to remove any clothing. The treatments are efficient, comfortable and extremely effective when a treatment plan is followed.

Fees:

Plan on 1-3 treatments within the first 10 days and then 1 per week thereafter, or as needed.

Initial Evaluation & Treatment: $85
At the initial appointment, we will meet at the patient's current home and take a history, focusing more on the patient's current status. Please schedule this at patient's "best" time of day when they can most fully participate and a regular family caregiver is present, if possible, so that we can all get to know one another. Once we have determined treatment goals, I will treat the patient as appropriate. This initial appointment could last anywhere from 1-2 hours.

Follow Up Treatments: $50 each

Anti-stress treatments for up to two caregivers at the same appointment: $10 each
These do not need to be pre-booked. Most often 5 points are placed into one or both ears while you rest seated. A Consent to Treatment/Brief Intake/Information form will be provided to you at the time.

Payment methods accepted: Cash, credit, and debit cards all accepted. Credit and debit payments will add a 3% fee to defray costs charged to me by Square, allowing me to keep my rates lower. Thank you for your understanding.

Insurance: I am not a provider for any insurance company. While many in hospice care are covered by Medicare and/or Medicaid, Medicare does not pay for acupuncture treatment at all and Texas Medicaid does not, either. No fee bills with ICD-10 codes for CPT codes will be given, but I am happy to issue receipts.

All treatment appointments are subject to 24-hr cancellation policy.
